Head to the Mountain

It seems like 2009 is shaping up to be a good year for music. It’s hard to believe our small community can have so many things going on at once, but somehow, it does happen.

Case in point – the music series at Mt. Hood Meadows. Bands are coming in from all over to play up at the ski resort. In February, it’s Hip Hop band “E.O.E.” from New Orleans, of all places. Since they have a ways to travel, I thought I’d contact them and let them introduce themselves. They’ve managed to sign up with a PR firm in Bend, which is closer to home for us, so maybe that will bring these guys to the area a few more times this year.

So, if you can, head to the mountain Feb. 14-15, and give these guys a listen.

P.S. A belated thank-you to everyone who everyone who came out to Double Mountain on New Year’s Eve. Mile marker 6 had a great time. Thanks to the Tapwater Band for playing, and letting us use their sound gear. They did a great job. My only question from that night is: Did anyone actually play that 50-ft Marimba?

P.P.S. – No more calls please, I’ve already got my February (12 shows-in-12 months) tickets. I can’t say who I’m going to see, that would ruin the surprise. But, ok, here’s a hint: Think “Basic Geometry.”
