The Portland-based band The Shaky Hands, which features two graduates of Hood River Valley High School, has signed with Holocene Music, an independent record label in Portland. They will be releasing their eponymous debut album this April.

The Shaky Hands, made up of Colin Anderson on drums, Nick Delffs on guitar and vocals, Nathan Delffs on pedal steel and percussion, Jeff Lehman on guitar, and Nick Pounders on bass, got their start in 2003.

Lehman and Pounders, who grew up in Hood River and graduated from Hood River Valley High School in 2000, joined the line up in 2004.

Pounders, whose stage moniker is Mayhaw Hoons, has, along with Lehman, been playing in various bands around Hood River and Portland for more than 10 years.

In 2006 The Shaky Hands recorded their debut full-length album at Sidecar Studios, which is due to be released from Holocene Music on April 10.

There will be two record release parties in Portland, a 21-and-over show to be held at the Holocene, at S.E. 10th and Morrison on April 7 at 9 p.m., and an all-ages CD release party at the Artistry, S.E. 43rd and Division St. on April 14.
