Registration is open for the third “Hood River Pub
Talk” on Tuesday, June 5, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Horse and Hound Pub in
Hood River.
Pub Talks are intended to promote entrepreneurial
development in the Gorge. They are informal events that provide time for
networking, a presentation by a keynote speaker and pitches to the
audience by two early-stage companies, according to organizer Bill Fashing,
the county’s economic development coordinator.
“These early-stage companies are most commonly seeking
advisors or capital investment,” Fashing said.
Horse and Hound is located at 403 Oak St. in Hood River
(look for the British flag).
The cost of the event is $10 in advance or $15 at the
door. RSVPs can be sent to Fashing at bill.fashing@co.hood-river.or.us or
387-6863. Make checks out to HRCC. Reservations are strongly encouraged as
space is limited.
Networking will begin at 5:30 p.m. Marc Cameron,
Daverci Solutions CEO, will provide the keynote address titled “Executive
Summary Basics: Setting the Stage for Success,” beginning around 6:30 p.m.
This presentation will be followed by brief presentations by The Grande
Dalles LLC and Klassic Bite-sized Cuisine, two early-stage companies.
Local sponsors of the event include Columbia River
Bank, Hood River County Chamber of Commerce, Mid-Columbia Economic
Development District, the Small Business Development Center and the Hood
River County Office of Economic Development. Additional Pub Talk events
will be scheduled later in 2007 in conjunction with the Oregon
Entrepreneurs Network.
Founded in 1991, the Oregon Entrepreneurs Network is a not-for-profit
corporation dedicated to providing opportunities for Oregon entrepreneurs
and improving the business climate for emerging, growth-oriented companies
statewide. The organization has nearly 3,000 members through Oregon and
southwest Washington. For more information about the OEN, visit its Web
