The Long Range Planning Process for Hood River County School
District starts its public input phase on Feb. 6.
The district has announced a slate of public information
sessions at schools throughout the county to report to the
public and gather feedback and ideas.
The meetings are scheduled on six days during February. In all
but one of the dates, sessions are scheduled at one school at 5
p.m. and at another school at 7 p.m.
“We will share what we know about our growing enrollment and
some alternatives for using our existing land and buildings, as
well as constructing new facilities,” said Superintendent Dr.
Pat Evenson-Brady
“We would like to meet with the Local Committees, Site Councils,
parents, and patrons at each school to get public input on how
best to meet our needs for added learning space,” she said.
Participants will be asked to complete a questionnaire detailing
their preferences for adding classrooms and other learning
space. The recommendations from the community will be summarized
in a recommendation to the School Board for a Long Range
Facilities Plan for the next 10 years.
