Shames advances to FBLA nationals

Hood River Valley High School’s Future Business Leaders of America member Danielle Shames placed second at the State Business Leadership Conference in word processing.

Shames will head to the National Leadership Conference in Nashville, Tenn., from June 29 to July 3.

The top two in selected events are eligible to attend Nationals.

Other members who placed in the top nine are:

* Andy Crafts, ninth in technology concepts and networking concepts;

* Katie Calkins, fourth and eighth for business procedures and the March of Dimes project;

* Katie Rawson, eighth for business communication;

* Meredith Danko, Sophia Maletz, and Alex Titus, third for a team project in business ethics;

* Allison Varga, eighth in introduction to business communication.
