Hood River Rotary awarded a total of $40,000 in college
scholarships to 24 graduating high school seniors and two
college students at its Thursday meeting in the Gorge Room of
Best Western Hood River Inn.
Receiving Hood River Rotary Foundation memorial scholarships
were: Tim Chance, who received the Frank Lariza Memorial
Scholarship; Hannah Mason, Berniece Hoffman Memorial
Scholarship; Karen Bastian, Eunice Kreig Memorial Scholarship;
Kaitlin Bauld, Morry Walton Memorial Scholarship; Friedrich Von
Flotow, Dr. Stan Wells Memorial Scholarship; Meghan Flem, Merle
Goe Memorial Scholarship; Anna Smith, John Arens Memorial
Scholarship; Danielle Peters, Charles King Benton, Jr., Memorial
Scholarship; and Matt MacDougall, Charles Bowe Memorial
Scholarship.
Alex Evans received the Club Centennial Award. Rotary
scholarships were also awarded to Kathryn Anderson, Miranda
Fish, Jenna Fisher, Marisela Marquez, Marie Strader, Mariah
Herman, Kayla Monahan, Juliann Beals, Kelly Durkan, Whitney
Osborn, Cori Nuss, Amy Metcalfe, Jennifer Jeffries, and Ana
Serrano.
The graduating seniors each received $1,500. The two college
students, Henry Burton and Nancy Meza, each received $2,000. |
