For the third year in a row, Hood River Valley High School
Speech and Debate Team will host the Apple Cup Novice Speech and
Debate Tournament on Saturday, Oct. 28, between 9 a.m. and 5
p.m.
Volunteers are needed to judge a wide variety of events ranging
from debate to literature reading and interpretation.
Prior experience is not necessary. All you need is a ballpoint
pen and willingness to help first-year competitors improve.
Volunteers are needed for a 90-minute slot beginning at 9:30
a.m. You can volunteer for one round, half a day, or all day.
“Our judges have a lot of fun,” Team Mom Cathy Merge says, “and
we take good care of them with tasty snacks and beverages all
day long.”
