The Hood River County School District has drafted two calendar
options for next year, and seeks input to help decide which
would be preferable.
The deadline for submitting survey forms is
Feb. 4.
The two draft options are very similar, with
the main differences shown below:
Start date Sept. 2, 2008, and end date June
12, 2009, with three emergency closure make-up days (Feb. 13,
March 20 and April 9) that become vacation days if not needed
for make-up days;
Start date Sept. 2, 2008, and end date June
9, 2009, plus three emergency closure make-up days after June 9,
2009 (June 10, 11 and 12) if needed.
Other options:
Early start option Start Aug. 27, 2008,
and end June 9, 2009;
Winter break option Start Sept. 2, 2008,
and end June 19, 2009, with winter break from Dec. 22, 2008 to
Jan. 9, 2009 (three weeks);
None dont add either option.
