Next week the Hood River
Valley High School FFA Chapter hosts two events for the
community in celebration of National FFA Week.
The first is the return
of the annual “Pass the Pig” fund-raiser, Tuesday, Feb. 19.
The second is the Feb.
23 Farmers Breakfast, 7 to 11 a.m. in the high school commons.
Enjoy a free country-style breakfast and tour the HRV FFA land
lab and shop, where students gain first-hand experience in
raising animals and learning about agriculture.
“Pass the Pig” returns
for its fifth year Tuesday.
Here’s how it works:
If a local business wishes to send a pig
to you, FFA members will show up with a baby pig. In order to
get rid of the pig, you must pay $20 to FFA to send it to
another business. That business, in turn, must pay the fee to
send it elsewhere.
