Parkdale’s largest commercial business,
McIsaac’s Store, has been purchased by Gorham and Roxanne
Blaine, Parkdale orchardists.
Look for major changes at the store this spring
and summer, including a new entry way on the south side of the
building.
The McIsaac’s name will remain, but the farm
supply and hardware section will get its own name — Parkdale
Farm Supply — and separate entrance. Major interior and exterior
renovations are planned, along the potential for expansion,
Gorham said.
The Blaines are just the third owner of the
business since its 1910 founding. The original building burned
in 1973, and the current structure was built two years later.
Blaine purchased the building from Trent and
Lisa Weseman.
“This building has been the hub of the community
for a long time, and it was in need of some changes,” Gorham
said.
The Blaines have also purchased the Jalisco
Market just down the street on Baseline. They will make
renovations to Jalisco later this year. Hours and merchandise
will be adjusted at both stores to accommodate each other,
Gorham Blaine said.
McIsaac’s hours are in flux as initial clean-up
proceeds, but for now it is open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days.
Jalisco currently opens at 4:30 p.m.
