The Nance family, part owners of a yoga studio in Hood
River, has branched out even further.
Sybil Nance and her daughter, Morgan, 15, have created
Par-T-Perfect, bringing back old-fashioned themed birthday parties to Hood
River. The business is a family affair.
“We started Par-T-Perfect to help bring some fun and
imagination to parties in the Gorge,” said Sybil, co-founder of the Flow
Yoga studio in Hood River.
The Nance family also created the company to optimize
their skills. Morgan, a high school freshman, is an experienced babysitter
and Eric, a sixth-grader, knows how to play outdoors whether it’s freeze
tag or lacrosse, a game he learned from his father, Peter.
Morgan and Eric designated themselves “party leaders”
of the company. Their mother said both have been to hundreds of birthday
parties and have learned what makes a party a success.
Tucker Fitzsimmons’ recent ninth birthday involved a
“tribal challenge” including Gummy worm digging, jello gig, bobbing for
bugs, lemon wedge toss, a treasure hunt and bug search.
“I wanted a summer job that would teach me how to run a
small business and keep me working with children,” Morgan said.
Sybil said Morgan has decided to open this business
with her mom so she and her 10 closest friends can find fun, outdoor,
children-focused summer and year-round employment.
Par-T-Perfect operates throughout the Gorge and
Portland area, offering inflatables and plenty of games and activities for
themed children’s birthday parties, corporate picnics, festivals, church
events and block parties.
“We do any occasion where children are involved,”
Morgan said. “We can be there offering a superior entertainment for kids
of all ages.”
Recent events included Westside Elementary games night;
several weddings are already booked for this summer.
