Full Sail Brewery received cover treatment in the May 2007 edition of
the magazine “Main Ingredient,” published by the Oregon Restaurant
Association.
Full Sail CEO Irene Firmat stands behind the bar in the newly remodeled
Full Sail pub, beaming over a row of foamy ales made in the employee-owned
Hood River brewery.
The article by Kirk Richardson is entitled, “Microbrews For Any Course:
Oregon’s Booming Craft Brew Industry pairs food and success.”
Firmat is quoted, saying, “My personal favorite (food and beer pairing)
is our barrel-conditioned porter with homemade vanilla ice cream — now
that is an ice cream float!”
Firmat notes that “Beer is a very complex beverage and there are so
many choices to choose from to complement all different foods. It is a
great deal of fun to open your customer eyes and palate to all the
different options … and above all, beer should always be fun.”
