Music and dance
highlight First Friday events in downtown Hood River Aug. 3.
A 2-on-2 breakdance
competition will start at 5 p.m. at the Horse & Hound with
Christa Joy dancers performing between sets.
The band Thrill plays on
the library lawn under the gazebo at 8 p.m.
At Second and Oak
Chigwaya youth marimba ensemble and Zvakanaka marimba play
joyful and energetic music from Zimbabwe and southern Africa.
Chigwaya and Zvakanaka
offer their vibrant, percussive sound in a spirit of celebration
and community.
At Waucoma Bookstore,
local landscape architect Jurgen Hess will sign his new book,
“Landscaping With Natives Columbia Gorge: Creating an
Earth-Friendly Landscape.”
