Approximately 50 cast members attended a week
of daily double rehearsals Aug. 20-24 for the Hood River Valley
High School production of Stephen Schwartz’ musical, “Children
of Eden,” directed by Mark Steighner and opening in November.
Schwartz is the Tony Award-winning composer of “Wicked,”
“Godspell” and “Pippin.” The HRV music department gave one of
the first productions of the show 10 years ago to great acclaim
and sold-out houses. The musical, which is based on the first
chapters of Genesis, is a moving exploration of family,
relationships, forgiveness and community.
