17th Annual Home Tour

Phil and Judy Jensen
200 Eugene St. • Hood River
Designed and built in the mid-1970s by the noted and popular architect Bill Fletcher (now deceased) of the architectural firm of Fletcher, Finch and Farr, the Jensen home is a piece of architectural sculpture that has gained a reputation as one of Hood River’s finest. The house stands as a sentinel atop the famous “stairway to the Heights” and views down Second Street to a virtually unobstructed view (three pine trees) of downtown, the Port properties and the greater Columbia River recreational area. The home and grounds boast of over 5,000 square feet of living space and a large lot with fully irrigated lawn and gardens (thank you Mt. Hood Gardens). The “modernist” design features ultra-clean lines with built-ins in every room to give it a minimalist look with maximum of storage space. The home offers the requisite game room, wine cellar, work room, office/library and a bonus fourth story downstairs “attic” for storage of off-season decorations or sports equipment. Generous “entertainment decks” on both the front and back of the home give one a great opportunity for entertaining friends and guests.
