Each year Soroptimist International of Hood River, honors through the “Women of Distinction” awards, women who have made a difference in Hood River County. The community benefits from these outstanding citizens and Soroptimist helps in making sure they are recognized.

The community is invited to submit nominations in six categories: economic and social development, environment, human rights/status of women, international goodwill and understanding, education, and health.

Any woman who has distinguished herself in one of these categories during her lifetime in Hood River County is eligible. She must have been active, either as a professional or as a volunteer, for at least 10 years. Applications should show the ways nominees are of exemplary character and serve as role models for other women.
