Columbia Art Gallery in
Hood River on Friday launches its holiday art show, “‘Winterglow.”
The public is invited to
the festive artist reception on Friday, Dec. 7, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Complimentary dessert and hot cider will be served; beer and
wine will also be available.
Along with new paintings
and sculptures, there will be beautiful crafts available for
purchase. Exquisitely made holiday ornaments will be for sale
created from various media including glass, ceramic and silk
fiber.
A range of jewelry and
other wearable art will be among the newest additions to the
holiday display. Part of the sales of original art pieces go
back to the artists.
Manager Catherine Kiewit
said the art gallery prides itself on having gift items
available for every budget.
“This year, we have
wonderful ornaments starting at $5 and boxed card sets also
starting at $5. Jewelry, ceramics, some small paintings and
unframed photographs range in price from $10-$75. Many of the
artists create smaller works to accommodate gift budgets.”
In recognition of the
holiday season, the Center will be open daily from Dec. 7
through Dec. 24, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Regular winter hours,
Wednesday through Sunday, resume on Dec. 26.
