Hood River News Editorial

The storm is over.
Thanks go out to the public works employees, emergency responders, law
enforcement, tow truck drivers, tire store employees, and anyone else
involved in rescuing people from ditches or snow drifts, keeping
streets and roads sanded and plowed, directing or equipping motorists,
and the myriad other ways they worked to relieve problems and ensure
safety.
The best way to thank the people listed above is to remember some
basic winter driving rules: mainly, if you don’t need to drive, stay
off the roads, and keep your vehicle well-stocked. Sue Ryan’s Round
Table, below, blends humor and practical tips for doing just that.
When will the next storm be? We have certainly not seen the last
winter blast. Now is a good time to double-check to make sure you are
prepared. |
