Billie
Harper
Billie Lee Harper, age 77, died March 26,
2008, in Parkdale, Ore.
Private family services will be held at a
later date.
Billie was born Sept. 1, 1930, at home in
Ionia, Mo., to Denver and Adella (Brashear) Harper.
At the age of six he moved with his family to
Parkdale. He attended Parkdale schools and helped on the family
farm raising hay, alfalfa and cattle.
On June 26, 1954, he and Barbara Iles were
married in The Dalles, Ore. She died Oct. 27, 2007.
He worked for 45 years at sawmills in Odell
and Mt. Hood. Billie was loved by his community and friends. He
enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Billie was a master craftsman of knives and
leather goods. He was very knowledgeable about all types of
firearms. Billie took great care of his family.
He is survived by his daughters, Judi Beers
and her husband, Jack, of Adams, Ore., and Kelly Harper of
Newport, Ore.; sister Neola Walker of Parkdale,; sister-in-law
Sherry Godfrey of Tillamook, Ore. and her daughter, Mandy, and
her grandson, Tyler.
He is also survived by two grandchildren, Jay
T. and Ann Beers; nephews Pat Walker and Nick Kirby; several
nieces and best friend Bill Lassen and his wife, Ina.
