 Frankie Summage Zeller

Frankie Summage Zeller was born in Clarkston, Wash., on Jan. 30, 1971. He passed away on April 3, 2008, with his loving family at his side.

Frankie’s family is planning a time to celebrate his life and mourn his passing at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 12, at Hood River Valley High School in the Bowe Auditorium, 1220 Indian Creek Road.

Frankie and his sister, Nadine Summage Stathas, lived in Redding, Calif., with various relatives through his first 12 years. He had many fond memories of time spent with Uncle Jeff and Aunt Audrey Carson, his Uncle Calley Jones and his grandfather, Ted, and grandmother, Billie Carson.

Frankie attended Hood River Valley High School and graduated in 1989. He was a record-breaking weight lifter and was also active in track, baseball and football; but his favorite sport was football.

After high school be went to Alaska and worked on a commercial fishing boat for four years. He then started a power washing business in the Portland area and eventually became a successful general contractor.

While in Portland he met Hedley Sandness; they married on Sept. 16, 2000, and were blessed with three children (two by blood and another by love): Jordyn, Jacob and Lindsey.

Frankie enjoyed jet skiing, fishing, hunting, boating and golfing, and especially spending time with his family and friends. He genuinely loved life and made the most of it.

Frankie is survived by his mother, Dianna, of Hood River, Ore.; sisters Marchi Colwell of Hood River, Nadine Stathas, of West Linn, Ore., Gladys Edwards, of Redding, Calif., Tammy Summage, of Los Angeles, Calif., and Tiffany Booker, of Seattle, Wash.; brothers Jeff Zeller, of Hood River, Ore., and Rocky Summage, Kelly Summage, Michael Summage and Oscar Summage, all of Redding, Calif. He is preceded in death by Frank Summage Sr. and sister, Janice Summage.

Frankie will be deeply missed by all who had made contact with him throughout his life. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made in his name for a fund that will be established for his children’s college fund. Please send remembrances in care of Anderson’s Tribute Center.
