The Pines Tasting Room hosts local music on Thursdays with
guitar and mandolin from Kerry Williams. Music is from 5-7 p.m.

Craft Beer Week May 12-18
This year, Full Sail in Hood River celebrates 21 years of
doing what they love, brewing beer. To celebrate, Full Sail
announces a new line-up of small-batch draft beers called
“Brewer's Share.” The brewery will launch this special beer
during American Craft Beer Week, May 12-18, which highlights the
industry and culture of craft beer. Full Sail invites you to
“Meet the Brewer and the Beer” on Thursday, May 15, at 5 p.m.

Barney Brennan will be on hand.
Barsamian lectures May 14
On Wednesday, May 14, at 7 p.m., Squrl Music and the Columbia
River Fellowship for Peace will be hosting David Barsamian at
the Pines Tasting Room, Second and State streets, Hood River.
Barsamian will be speaking on the media and U.S. foreign policy.
Tickets are a $10 donation at the door, and wine will be
available for purchase. Barsamian's latest books “Targeting
Iran,”and “What We Say Goes,” with Noam Chomsky will also be

Sinfonietta plays May 12-13
The Columbia Gorge Sinfonietta, Voci and the Columbia Gorge
Men’s Chorus present its free season finale concert on Monday
and Tuesday, May 12-13, at the Bowe Theatre at the Hood River
Valley High School. The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. and is
conducted by Mark Steighner. The program includes In the Steppes
of Central Asia by Alexander Borodin, highlights from Pirates of
the Caribbean: At World’s End, Aaron Copland’s Our Town, and
choral selections.
NoteCrackers Sweet May 13
Looking for a place to dance? The NoteCrackers Sweet will be
playing live music for a social dance at the Mid-Columbia Senior
Center in The Dalles, 7-9 p.m., Tuesday, May 13. This "second
Tuesday" event features danceable tunes from the ’20s thru the

Music returns to the Trillium Cafe in May with Ben Bonham on
Friday, May 9. On Saturday, May 10, it’s local band the
Sugardaddies with a mix of swing, jazz, rock and blues. Music

Mom’s day giveaway May 10
The May 10 Saturday Market will host its annual Mother's Day
gift giveaway. Artists and crafters have creations that will
make great gifts. A drawing will be held at 11:30 a.m. Local
musician Bob Connolly will be playing some classic tunes as well
as some originals from noon to 2 p.m. The market is open every
Saturday 9 a.m-3 p.m. Hood River Saturday Market, Fifth and

JB Eckl plays May 10
JB Eckl, musician, songwriter and producer for bands like
Santana and 1970s funk band WAR, will be performing a house
concert at the home of Michael and Jana Hannigan in Hood River
on Saturday, May 10, beginning at 7:30 p.m. Eckl’s music spans
many genres and styles, from pop to world music to blues, and he
will be sharing his songs and stories. There is limited seating,

a $10-$15 suggested donation and refreshments will be provided.
Whipsaws, more at River City
It’s a busy upcoming week at the River City Saloon. On
Thursday, May 8, catch the rock and roll show from The West,
featuring Chris “The Rock” Troiano. Also on the bill is The
Legend of Dutch Savage, who have just released a CD “All Will Be
Good When I'm Gone.” On Friday, May 9, Alaskan roots rock band
the Whipsaws kick off another lower 48 tour in support of their
