Vilda Kusisto
Vilda Margit Wall Kusisto died May 1,
2009, at the Columbia Basin Care Facility in The Dalles, Ore.
She was born Oct. 25, 1912, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Conrad
Joseph and Mina (Youngberg) Wall.
She is survived by her daughter and
son-in-law, Iris and Jim Mahaffey; son and daughter-in-law,
Brent and Rosemary Kusisto; five grandchildren: Robert (Bobby)
Kusisto, Tonya (and Larry) Melton, Michael Mahaffey, Jeff
Mahaffey, and Stephen (and Cindy) Mahaffey; two
great-grandchildren: Stephanie Melton and Paige Melton; and many
nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by her
husband, Abel Benjamin Kusisto, and all of her brothers and
sisters and their spouses.
Vilda was a dedicated member of The
Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed her
flowers, gardening, researching and documenting genealogy and
spending time with her family and friends.
Memorial services will be held on
Saturday, May 16, at 4 p.m. in Hood River, Ore., at The Church
of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Bishop Gary Hornbeck will
conduct the service. Graveside services were held Friday, May 8
at Idlewilde Cemetery.
The family suggests that memorial
contributions be made in remembrance of Vilda to The Parkinson
Center of Oregon and sent care of Anderson’s.
