Barbara Prisco
Barbara Delepine Prisco, of Salem, Ore.,
passed away on March 24, 2009, at the age of 85. Barbara was
born in Portland, Ore., on Sept. 23, 1923, to Sheridan and Ruth
Delepine. She grew up in Hood River and graduated from Hood
River High School as salutatorian in May 1941.
She lived many years in the Bay area,
raising her family and working for the postal service, and later
moved to the Northwest.
Barbara enjoyed painting seascapes,
crafts, all types of dancing, traveling in her motor home,
gardening, playing games with the family, reading and collecting
antiques. Her favorite trip was a one-year trip all around the
United States in the motor home.
She was a beloved sister, mother,
grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She was preceded in
death by her parents, Sheridan and Ruth Delepine; brothers,
David and Kay Delepine; sister, Jean Delepine; daughter, Linda
Green Sharp; sons, John Saenz and David Wade; and grandson,
Michael Saenz.
She is survived by her brother, John
Delepine, of Hood River; sisters, Elizabeth Delepine Day, of
Lancaster, Calif., and Molly Delepine Miller, of Salem, Ore.;
daughters, Janet Green Rich (Jeff), Susan Saenz Morse (Dennis),
Nancy Saenz Witte, Molly Saenz Erickson and Marianne Wade; and
son, Dale Delepine Wade.
Barbara had 19 grandchildren and 14
great-grandchildren.
