Lavender Daze July 11-12
Hood River Lavender Farms will host its
fifth annual Lavender Daze festival on Saturday and Sunday, July
11-12. The festival will feature more than 20 arts and craft
vendors, barbecue from Charburger, on-site massage, Cathedral
Ridge wines and games and activities for the kids.
Admission to the grounds is free, and
there will be music on the main stage both days.

‘tick, tick…BOOM!’
opens July 9
CAST presents a production of
“tick…tick…BOOM!” at the
Columbia Center
for the Arts.
The play tells the story of Jon, a young
New York composer who is on the verge of
being discovered, but is still having doubts and insecurities
about his future.
Together with Susan,
his girlfriend, and Michael, his oldest friend, Jon ponders what
lies beyond the decisions they all must face. Along the way
there are songs about relationships, the tribulations of urban
life, the challenges of growing older, and the need for
friendships and connections.
The show runs July 9, 10, 11, 16, 17, 18 at

Ashana’s ‘Healing Music’ June 24
On Wednesday, June 24, Ashana’s
Heart-to-Heart Tour comes to HeartGate Sanctuary in
Hood River
to offer a concert of transcendent music, featuring the luminous
sound of crystal singing bowls accompanied by keyboards,
percussion and vocals in a multi-dimensional program of sacred
chant, song and mantra.

California’
June 24
The monthly film series at
Columbia Center
for the Arts continues with “King of California” on Wednesday,
June 24, at 7:30 p.m.
A quirky and touching comedy about a
mature teenager and her manic-depressive father, “King of
California” is a tale of familial relations and treasure
hunting. The film stars Michael Douglas as Charlie, a troubled
musician who has just been released from a mental hospital. He
returns home to live with his 16-year-old daughter, Miranda, who
is not exactly thrilled to have him back.

grandmother, Rosamond Pinchot, a woman born into one of the
country's most illustrious political families.
Dubbed “the loveliest woman in
America,” Rosamond was an acclaimed actress,
socialite, and sportswoman. Yet, only 10 short years later her
life came to a shocking end by suicide, setting in motion
decades of confusion and sibling rivalry.

with a screening of “The Money Fix,” at the White Salmon
