The Gorge Peace Roadshow is coming to Acre
Coffee on Saturday, Dec. 15, from 1-5 p.m. The show serves up a
holiday portion of music, poetry and political parody as a
fundraiser for flood victims in the Chehalis-Centralia area of
Washington.
Featured performers at the event include Jack
Benjamin, Ben Bonham and Chic Preston, Ukuleles for Sanity, The
Paul Blackburn Peace Experience, Bruce Baugher, Tina Castanares,
Doug Fox, and the Peace Tigers.
Acre Coffee owner Christie Hessler, who grew
up in Chehalis and Centralia, has set up drop boxes for food,
blankets, bedding and other items at Acre, Mother’s Market and
U.S. Bank on the Heights.
Hessler said particularly needed items
include Christmas toys, since many families lost all their
holiday items. United Way in Chehalis also is accepting cash
donations to purchase gift cards for flood victims to buy new
supplies. United Way can be reached at (360) 748-8100.
For more information, call Hessler at 490-5227.
