Florence Helen Taiclet
Florence Helen Sheldrake Taiclet, 82, passed away on Oct. 6,
2007, at the Hood River Care Center. She was born to John Henry
and Ella Everson Sheldrake on Aug. 26, 1925.
After graduating from high school she worked
at Providence Hospital in Portland, Ore. She attended the
University of Washington in Seattle. During World War II she
sang at USO shows. Later she moved and settled in New Jersey.
She was a choir member there for 25 years.
She married Robert Taiclet on June 12, 1948,
and they had two children. Florence Helen worked as a union
secretary for the Department of Census, doing billing for a
hospital and later office work for a grocery chain. She retired
after her husband died and moved back to Hood River in 1985. She
joined the Hood River Valley Christian Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Denia, and
son, Robert, both in New Jersey; sister-in-law, Blanche Taiclet,
also in New Jersey.
Florence Helen was preceded in death by her
husband, Robert; both parents; and brothers John, Thomas,
Donald, Leonard and Eugene.
A service will be held at noon Tuesday, Dec.
11, at Anderson’s Tribute Center (Funerals, Receptions,

Gloria Moran
Gloria Moran, 72, of Hood River, Ore., passed
away Dec. 7, 2007, at the Hood River Care Center.
Gloria was born in Fort Francis, Ontario,
Canada, one of three children born to Louis Samuel and Dorothy
Helen (Williams) Moran. Her father worked construction and the
family moved throughout the Pacific Northwest and Northern
California to where the jobs were.
Gloria settled in Santa Maria, Calif., before
moving to Hood River in 1976.
Gloria married John D. Clouse in 1953 and
they later divorced. Gloria had four children; Lisa Rose Marie,
Theresa Lorraine, Daniel Lewis and Shannon Ann. She loved her
family and enjoyed all their time spent together. She especially
loved taking trips to the Oregon Coast with her older brother,
Jim, and his wife, Stella, and several extended trips to visit
family in California.
Gloria worked for the Hood River Hospital
from 1976 until 1996. She enjoyed crocheting, genealogy,
crossword puzzles and beachcombing at the Oregon Coast. She
spent a great deal of time researching her family ties to
Canada, England and Scotland and was proud of her Canadian
roots.
Gloria is survived and will be dearly missed
by her four children, Lisa Rose Marie Cupit and her husband,
Robert, of Cascade Locks, Ore., Theresa “Terry” Lorraine Clouse
and her husband, Michael Bright, of Hood River, Daniel Lewis
Moran and his wife, Jennifer, of Parkdale, Ore., and Shannon Ann
Bailey and her husband, Daniel, of Dayton, Ore.
She is also survived by grandchildren Lilo
Moran and her husband, Tim Clark, of Hood River, Richard Steven
Cupit and his wife, Sally, of Santa Maria, Calif., Kristin Ann
(Bailey) Hedges and her husband, Rick, of Dayton, Ore., Courtney
Lee Bailey, of Dayton, Ore., Jacob Lewis Moran, of Parkdale,
Ore., Zachary Raymond Moran, of Parkdale, Ore., and Shelby Lynn
Bailey, of Dayton, Ore.; great-grandchildren Savannah, Robert,
Alex, Elizabeth and Leia; brother, George “Jim” Edward Moran and
his wife, Stella, of Reedsport, Ore.; sister, Rosalie “Jo”
Elizabeth Buentiempo and her husband, Mike, of Santa Maria,
Calif.; and numerous nieces, nephews and many friends.
In addition to her parents Gloria was
preceded in death by John D. Clouse and her beloved nephew,
David Buentiempo.
The family suggests that memorial
remembrances be made in Gloria’s name to Alzheimer’s Research in
care of Anderson’s Tribute Center.
A service to celebrate Gloria’s life and
mourn her passing will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, at
Anderson’s Tribute Center; a reception will follow, then
interment at Idlewild Cemetery. Visitation and viewing will be
Friday afternoon from 3-5 p.m. at Anderson’s. Pastor Carl Casey
from the Parkdale Nazarene Church will officiate.

Dennis J. Lobley
Dennis J. Lobley, a former Hood River, Ore.,
resident, died Dec. 7, 2007, at Emanuel Hospital in Portland,
Ore. He was 45 years of age.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, Dec. 15,
from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. followed by funeral services at 3 p.m.
at Anderson’s Tribute Center.
Dennis was born Jan. 3, 1962, in The Dalles,
Ore., to Norman and Sylvia (Sharkey) Lobley. He was raised in
the Hood River Valley, attending Odell Grade School, Wy’east
Junior High School and graduated from Hood River Valley High
School. He also attended Clark Community College for two years.
In 1984, he and Susan Lockett were married.
Dennis had worked as a millwright in the
truck manufacturing business. He has resided in Portland, Ore.,
for the past 21 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, music,
singing, playing guitar and spending time with his children and
grandchildren.
Private interment will be at Pine Grove
Cemetery in Hood River.
He is survived by his wife, Susan Lobley, of
Portland; son, Richard Lobley, of Beaverton, Ore.; daughter,
Amber Wakefield, of Hillsboro, Ore.; mother, Sylvia, and Dick
Larch of Hood River; sisters Yvonne Porter, of Warren, Ore.,;
Lois Gill, of Sublimity, Ore., and Cynita McClung, of Dufur,
Ore.; brothers Milo Osbourn, of Cascade Locks, Ore., Donnie
Larch, of Portland, Ore.; Dave Larch, of Parkdale, Ore., Scott
Osbourn, of Odell, Ore. and Michael and Timothy Lobley, both of
New Mexico. Three grandchildren, Morgan and Ella Wakefield of
Hillsboro, Ore., and Rylie Lobley, of Beaverton, Ore., also
survive.
