Bears from Allen Road to Cooper Spur are smashing
beehives in the upper Hood River Valley.
Grower Steen NcNerney said he has been hit twice in the
last 10 days and knows of many more growers who have reported damaged
hives.
“I’ve been using bees for many years and never seen it
this bad,” NcNerney said. “We’ve always had bears up here but not causing
this much damage in one spring alone.”
