Next year in June Hood River County will
mark its 100th year, and planning has already begun for events to
celebrate the occasion.
A Centennial Committee was formed by
County Administrator David Meriwether, and one of the first things it did
was to distribute a survey to see how the public would like to celebrate.
Then it invited representatives from
service groups and other interested persons to a work session May 10 to
review the survey results, brainstorm and narrow down ideas.
Anyone interested in helping is invited
to attend a meeting on June 5 at 5:15 p.m., at The History Museum
(formerly the Hood River County Historical Museum).
Representatives of service groups are
especially urged to attend, as much help is needed in delegating tasks for
this big event.
