An Oregon Public Utility Commission decision on
Wednesday to allow a 13 percent rate hike will hit the pocketbooks of
7,000 Hood River County customers starting June 1.
The action follows the decision last week by the
Bonneville Power Administration to stop payments that reduced rates for
investor-owned utilities such as Pacific Power and Light in Hood River
County. The rates affect residential customers and small farm users,
especially in the Dee Flat area of the county.
