A Pine Grove Elementary School Alumni Reunion is
currently in the planning process scheduled to be held in June 2008.
Please spread the word to all the history buffs or
genealogy experts in your family along with friends and family members.
Please give Cindy Blachly a call at 387-4996 with any information or
pictures or history you might have.
The plan is to celebrate the value of this great
country school and the many generations of families it has educated and
the many future generations it will educate.
A mailing list is beginning to be compiled and you can
visit the following Web site for more information www.freewebs.com/pinegrovereunion.
There will be many activities planned along with an
alumni group photo etc. More information will be given as events are
firmed up. This should be the reunion of all reunions!

A reminder of the Safeway Scrips program that is still
ongoing at Pine Grove School and will continue through the summer. Just by
buying groceries with Safeway’s e-scrip program you donate a portion of
every purchase directly to the Pine Grove School account. If you haven’t
signed up please do so at www.escript.com.
Click on sign up — It’s free and enter Pine Grove’s ID
No. 8565724. You will need your red Safeway card to enroll. This is a
great way for the school to make extra money for field trips and other
school activities. If you’re already enrolled Thank-you!

May Activities at Pine Grove School included Hispanic
Cultural Night which was very successful and enjoyed by everyone. Third,
fourth and fifth graders took our Oregon State Assessment Tests. Parents
Lisa Crompton, Julie Clark and Kris Lariza all participated in the Oregon
Lottery Scratch-it for Schools fund-raiser.
They furiously scratched for five minutes and brought
in $1,162 for the school. A digital video camera will be purchased with
some of the funds for recording classroom activities, student programs and
community events. Remaining funds will be put into PTO funds for further
provisions of needed materials and funding to classroom teachers.

There will be an upcoming Talent Show scheduled for
Thursday, June 14, at noon. Any Pine Grove student or staff member may try
out and participate. Parents are invited to attend.
I still remember a talent show I tried out for when I
was in elementary school.
Yes, they had color photography (back then) because I
have a picture of my skit along with my other friends who performed to “A
Tisket, A Tasket.”
Thank goodness I learned at an early age stage work was
not in my future. Otherwise I would be on “American Idol” thinking I could
sing or dance!
