Joe Reitz, 3, of Hood River, stands in awe of the Union Pacific train rolling past the Mt, Hood Railroad yard Saturday. The newly-arrived steam trains at Mt. Hood Railroad also held Joe’s attention, along with his mother, Chris Reitz and father, Max, and Joe’s sister, Jill, 1. Two Alco steam engines were unloaded from flatbeds Saturday and crews are preparing them for service pulling the Mt. Hood excursion routes, starting in early July.
