‘Oohs and aahs’ and plenty to do
In Hood River, Cascade Locks and Odell, there will be plenty to see and do
on Independence Day, which is Wednesday.
Special Olympians will serve as grand marshals for the
Hood River July Fourth parade, which starts at 10 a.m.
The annual Joe Kollas Memorial Run and Walk, from Odell
to Hood River, precedes the parade, and music in Jackson Park follows. The
Gorge Winds and The White Salmon Jazz Band will give a free concert.
Fireworks shows are planned in Hood River and Cascade
Locks, after dark.
In Odell, the annual July Fourth parade, organized by
the Gorge Goodtimers Snowmobile Club, assembles at Mid Valley Elementary
at 3:30 p.m. and starts at 4 p.m.
