Fun on the 4th

‘Oohs and aahs’ and plenty to do

In Hood River, Cascade Locks and Odell, there will be plenty to see and do on Independence Day, which is Wednesday.

Special Olympians will serve as grand marshals for the Hood River July Fourth parade, which starts at 10 a.m.

The annual Joe Kollas Memorial Run and Walk, from Odell to Hood River, precedes the parade, and music in Jackson Park follows. The Gorge Winds and The White Salmon Jazz Band will give a free concert.

Fireworks shows are planned in Hood River and Cascade Locks, after dark.

In Odell, the annual July Fourth parade, organized by the Gorge Goodtimers Snowmobile Club, assembles at Mid Valley Elementary at 3:30 p.m. and starts at 4 p.m.
