This picture shows the debris field of rock
off the Eliot Branch in April 2007 from a torrent that came off
Mount Hood during Nov. 2006.
Glacial changes such as these will be the
focus of a talk by hydroclimatologist Anne Nolin Jan. 22 in Hood
River. The OSU professor will make a presentation detailing her
current research on climatic change, receding glaciers, and
subsequent changes to water supplies and stability of Mount Hood’s
moraines.
The public is invited to the session, which
will be part of the Hood River Watershed Group’s monthly meeting
at 7 p.m on Jan. 22. The meeting will be held at the Hood River
Valley Adult Center located at 2010 Sterling Place in Hood
River (about a block west of the intersection of 12th Street and Brookside Drive on The Heights in Hood River).
