Residents Committee
marks 30th year

September 19, 2007

The Hood River Valley Residents Committee marks its 20th anniversary Sunday with its annual meeting and two guest speakers on land use issues.

The gathering will start at 5:45 p.m. at Columbia Center for the Arts, 213 Cascade Ave. Following the annual meeting, there will be a 6:30 p.m. social hour (no-host bar). Presentations start at 7:15 p.m.

Speakers are Tim Smith, award-winning architect who specializes in concepts such as “smart growth” and “civic ecology,” according to Committee Executive Director Jonathan Graca.

Also speaking will be Rep. Brian Clem, (D-Salem), a member of the joint Senate-House Committee for Land Use Fairness that played an integral part in creation of the proposed Measure 49.
