The Hood River Valley Residents Committee
marks its 20th anniversary Sunday with its annual meeting and
two guest speakers on land use issues.
The gathering will start
at 5:45 p.m. at Columbia Center for the Arts, 213 Cascade Ave.
Following the annual meeting, there will be a 6:30 p.m. social
hour (no-host bar). Presentations start at 7:15 p.m.
Speakers are Tim Smith,
award-winning architect who specializes in concepts such as
“smart growth” and “civic ecology,” according to Committee
Executive Director Jonathan Graca.
Also speaking will be Rep. Brian Clem,
(D-Salem), a member of the joint Senate-House Committee for Land
Use Fairness that played an integral part in creation of the
proposed Measure 49.
