Highway 35 will be closed Oct. 1, 2 and 3,
according to the Oregon Department of Transportation.
“We need to close to put in a particularly
deep culvert, which requires a lot of digging,” spokesman Mike
Mason said. “Unfortunately with the Iron Creek closure there is
no detour.”
Closure hours are 5 a.m. Oct. 1 to 8 p.m. Oct. 3 at milepost
62. White River is at milepost 61.71 and Mt. Hood Meadows is at
milepost 69.59. This is the last of emergency repair work to fix
winter storm damages and has included installing culverts under
the road between the White River at MP 61 and the East Fork of
the Hood River at MP 78. Mason said the work had originally been
scheduled for September but was postponed.
