The Hood River Downtown
Business Association hosts the fourth annual Hood River Hops
Fest, Oct. 6 from noon to 9 p.m.
Admission is free,
though a fee is charged for sampling of the beer and wine from
30 Pacific Northwest breweries and eight wineries.
There will be food
vendors and music and other family-oriented events including a
root beer garden, kids play area, climbing wall and sidewalk
chalk art.
The festival will be in
the parking lot at Fifth and Columbia streets.

lineup:
Noon — Kate Meloy Trio
(folk blues, bluegrass)
1:30 p.m. — Speed Queen
Underground (alternative)
3:30 p.m. — Sweety
(alternative)
5 p.m. — Eric Hatcher
and the Worker Bees (blues)
7 p.m. — Phoenix
(classic rock cover band)
Breweries include Hood
River’s Double Mountain, Full Sail, and Big Horse; Eliot Glacier
from Parkdale; Walking Man from Stevenson, Mt. Hood Brewing from
Government Camp, and McMenamins, Lompoc, along with Cashmere,
Deschutes, Roots, and other more far-flung breweries.
Local wineries include Pheasant Valley,
Quinett, Phelps Creek and Wind River.
