Oregon AFSCME Local 1082 and Hood River
County reached a tentative agreement on a three-year contract
Nov. 28, following a six-hour mediation session, according to a
statement from AFSCME Thursday morning.
The new contract, which is retroactive to
July 1, includes a 3 percent cost-of-living adjustment (COLA)
also retroactive to July 1. Subsequent 3 percent COLAs will be
paid on Sept. 1, 2008 and July 1, 2009.
The two sides also came to agreement on a
comprehensive health insurance proposal, which had been a major
sticking point in the negotiations.
Hood River News will carry more details in
its Dec. 1 edition.
