The weather may have huffed and puffed but it
was the David Douglas swim team that ultimately blew the Hood
River Valley High School swim team’s house down at David Douglas
on Thursday.
After the Eagles drove through an intense storm
system that spawned a rare tornado in Vancouver, Wash., on their
way to the meet, the Scots took advantage of their superior
numbers to dominate the swim events.
Erin Jones was the only HRV swimmer to take a
first place finish, getting it in the girls 200 freestyle, as
David Douglas rolled on both sides, beating the HRV boys 122-36
and the HRV girls 121-44.
The Eagle swimmers host Gresham and St. Mary’s
this Thursday at 4 p.m.
