The Cooper Spur Race Team (CSRT) battled weather challenges for strong results Feb. 2-3 at the Meadows Challenge slalom and GS races.

On Saturday, the originally scheduled two-run slalom was revised with the second run being canceled due to heavy snow creating unacceptable course conditions.

The first run of the slalom was completed and reported; however the course deteriorated such that later starters were at a significant disadvantage.

CSRT racers with top 3 overall finishes were led by Montana Kurahara, who put together a pair of first place finishes in the slalom on Saturday and GS on Sunday. Chloe Kurahara continued strong finishes with a second (Sl) and first (GS), Jackson West with a pair of third place finishes, Claire Davies with a second (GS), Erin Sutherland third (Sl), Riggs Bardin third (Sl), Elle Truax first (Sl), Raquel Bruggeman second (GS), Charlie Mallon second (GS), Seth Anderson third (GS), Jimmy Max Tobler third (Sl), and Brodie Sutherland third (Sl).

CSRT’s next race is Feb. 15 – 17 for the Mt. Hood 4-Way at Ski Bowl. This race challenges the kids with cross-country and a jumping event on Friday, slalom on Saturday, and GS on Sunday.
