The Hood River Valley
Swim Team recorded its highest team finishes in eight years at
the Northwest Section Western Zone Age Group Swimming
Championships March 15 in Federal Way, Wash.
The girls side of the
team scored 19 points to finish 37th and the boys team scored
eight points to finish 59th.
The team also saw a new
record set in the boys 13-14 200 breaststroke. Connor broke the
previous team record of Oliver Burton.
“As a coach I am very
pleased with all the athletes,” coach Shelly Rawding said. “They
dropped huge amounts of time at their State Championship meet,
and now in Sectionals they all did at least one new best time,
if not more, and everyone made it into finals and scored
points.”
