The HRV softball team did not make the state
playoffs this year, but one member of the team will be playing
in a postseason game this weekend.
First baseman Eryn Jacobson was selected to the
2008 Senior All-State series as a member of the Metro Team.
The senior game will be June 1 at Southridge High
School.
In addition to being named to the all-state team,
Jacobson was also named to Mount Hood Conference first team for
her performance at first base. Amie Hobbs also made the first
team as a designated hitter. Courtney Ewald was named an
honorable mention infielder.
In team awards, Jacobson and Ewald were named
co-MVPs of the varsity squad with offensive player of the year
honors going to Courtney Ewald. Cara Williams received the
team’s Gold Glove award and Hobbs and Erin Costello were named
most improved.
On the JV team, Mackenzie Hunter took home MVP
honors, Crystal Lopes was named most inspirational and Christian
Lopez was named most improved. For JV2, Amber Edwards was named
MVP, Selva Marroquin most inspirational and Yuko Ota most
improved.
