“Wildfire: the Role of Fire in the Gorge,” a lecture by Jurgen Hess presented by the Columbia Gorge Earth Center, 6:30 p.m. at Springhouse Cellar Winery, 13 Railroad St., Hood River. Doors open at 6 p.m. Hess will explore the relationship between fire, the land and our communities. He will discuss the role of fire in ecology, forest health and human habitation.
