WAAAM Traffic Jam Cruise-In & Car Show

The Western Antique Aeroplane and Automobile Museum in Hood River holds its first car show, the WAAAM Traffic Jam, spotlighting cars 30 years old and older. The NASCAR Great Clips Racing Team No. 38 Chevrolet show car will be at the show along with the Great Clips No. 9 World of Outlaws race car. Friday is for early registration. Friday evening at 5:30 p.m. registered participants will line up to cruise from the museum through the Heights to downtown Hood River. After the cruise they return to the museum for a “drive-in” movie. Saturday action includes kicking off the day with the Eyeopener Lions Pancake Breakfast at 8 am, registration and judging of cars, Peoples Choice voting, live music by Organic Sol and a Model T quick build challenge by a team of WAAAM volunteers. Watch the Pinstriping Panel Jam artists demonstrating their prowess with hand painted pinstriping, airbrushing and sign making. The Awards Ceremony will be held at 3 Saturday. The hours for the WAAAM Traffic Jam are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Saturday. Registration for show cars (1982 model year and earlier) will be $25 at the gate. This registration fee includes museum and grounds admission for two. The special admission fee for the event will be $10 for adults and $5 for ages 5-18 years old. Admission includes access to the museum and to the car show grounds. On site parking is free. Open 9-5 daily, the Western Antique Aeroplane and Automobile Museum collects, restores, preserves and exhibits airplanes from the Dawn of Flight through the Golden Age of Flight and historically significant cars and trucks from the first half of the 20th century.
