Steelhead and spring chinook fishing workshop

Steelhead and Spring Chinook 101, a one-day clinic led by local expert fisherman Greg Short, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The workshop will cover topics ranging from rules and regulations, rods, reels, line, tackle and bait. Short will offer technical guidance to help improve skills for both beginners and experts. Morning discussion will be held at the OSU Extension Office meeting room, followed by a hands-on practice on the lower Hood River. The workshop is open to all ages (adult supervision required for kids under 12). An Oregon fishing license (daily or annual) will be required for anyone age 14 or older. Harvest tags are required to keep steelhead and salmon. The cost is $20; register with Community Ed at 541-386-2055 or online at www.hrcommunityed.org.
