Fundraiser: Table of Friends

This annual benefit dinner and live dessert auction directly supports New Parent Services, and is a tremendous asset, not only to those in need but to all of the families in our community. During the highlight of the evening, the live dessert auction, tables of attendees bid together to win fabulous desserts, which have been donated by local eateries. A "Table of Friends" is eight friends, family members or co-workers who purchase individual tickets for $45 or reserve the entire table of eight for $360. Tickets may be purchased at the Hood River office located at 965 Tucker Road or by calling The Next Door at: 541-386-6665. The Table of Friends event is an important opportunity for New Parent Services to raise awareness about its programs and to raise funds to continue its important work. The night promises to be fun-filled, with dinner, a live dessert auction, live music, and dancing. While this event is fun-spirited in nature, the underlying cause is quite serious: preventing child abuse and neglect. Thus far, The Next Door has raised $1,000 from Columbia Gorge Family Medicine who has so generously agreed to sponsor this event. Any individual or organization wishing to sponsor this year’s Table of Friends event should contact our office. The Next Door is a local nonprofit whose mission is opening doors to new possibilities by strengthening children and families and improving communities. Staff members work with thousands of people in the Columbia Gorge who are struggling; to grow up strong, to stop getting in trouble, to be good enough parents, and even to learn a sustainable way to have enough food. This year’s theme is: “It’s a Jungle Out there!” and the decorations, food and desserts will all have a hint of jungle...we hope you and your guests will dress up and “go wild”! The event will be catered by Boda’s Kitchen of Hood River. Festivities will start at 5:30 pm.
