Brown Bag Workshop: Expand Sales By Exporting Globally

Presenter: Scott See, J Hammock & Associates, LLC A Practical How-To Workshop Learn how to prepare for exporting your products and how to find prospective importers. America is the land of “not sweating the small stuff.” That’s not the case in other parts of the world. To succeed internationally, your company needs to have all the answers to all the questions you can expect from overseas buyers at your fingertips. This workshop will review all the questions you never thought possible. Learn how abused the poor phrase FOB is and what Incoterms are. Learn about overseas shipping, insurance, freight brokerage, customs, duty, taxes, and international regulations. It sounds difficult, but selling overseas can be easy if you have all your ducks lined up in a row. That being said, 99 percent of American companies are ill-prepared for selling overseas; 75 percent of American companies are woefully ill-prepared for selling overseas. Learn how to fall in the 1 percent that are prepared to open new markets overseas. Scott See, Owner of J. Hammock & Associates LLC, has 20-plus years' experience exporting products overseas and has written “The Book” on how to export. Bring: Attendees are encouraged to bring a brown bag lunch. Cost: $5 for non members Brown Bag Workshops are part of regular programming put on by Gorge Innoventure, the Columbia Gorge's first and only start-up business accelerator based at the Port of Hood River.
