Mid-Columbia Chapter of the Native Plant Society of Oregon

Lindsey Wise will meet with the Mid-Columbia Chapter of the Native Plant Society of Oregon to provide an overview of the programs of the Oregon Biodiversity Information Center. ORBIC has been the steward of information regarding the locations and statuses of rare species in Oregon for more than 30 years. Wise, a biodiversity data manager, will show examples of records for rare plants found in the Gorge, and will discuss how citizen scientists can help maintain and update this important resource. Wise is also data manager for Oregon iMapInvasives, an online invasive species mapping platform accessible to all. She holds a master's degree in ecology from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland, and a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Puget Sound. The meeting will be held in Room 1.366 at CGCC, The Dalles campus.
