Underwood Community Gardens Children's Program

Please join us in celebrating Children and Wellness in the Garden this summer! As we enter year 2 of our program, we are excited to be offering a series of eight FREE gardening and extended learning classes for children ages 7-12 plus one special class for ages 12-16.

Activities include:

  • Hands-on gardening tasks: planning, seeding, planting, weeding & harvesting
  • Overview of gardening concepts, strategies and cycles
  • Hands-on scientific exploration of plant parts, seeds, soil & compost
  • Sharing food knowledge & recipes using the garden's produce
  • Creative art activities to support learning

It’s A Wrap! Garden Cleanup and Savings

 

The week before each class we will be sending out a description of the class topics and planned activities.  Children can participate simply by dropping in however parent supervision is required.
