American Red Cross announces upcoming blood donation opportunities Oct. 1-15. Blood drives are planned on in Hood River on Oct. 4, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Walmart, 2700 Wasco Ave., and Oct. 12 at the Bonneville Lock and Dam, just west of Cascade Locks, 9 a.m.to 2:30 p.m.

People of all racial and ethnic backgrounds, as well as all blood types, are needed to help with sustaining the current blood and plasma reserves of the American Red Cross.  Make an appointment by visiting redcrossblood.org or calling 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767). To help reduce wait times, donors are encouraged to make appointments and complete the RapidPass online health history questionnaire at redcrossblood.org/RapidPass.
