Letter to driver

To the driver of the older light blue pickup with a white canopy who, heading east, almost ran over myself and my children on the corner of 17th and West Sherman around 7:40 Sunday evening:

We started across the crosswalk after you slowed for hte stop across the intersection. We were about halfway across when you gunned it and came barreling towards us.

Thank God I had a tight hold on both my children's hands as we ran to get out of th way. (We have reported this to the police.)

There are only two possible scenarios I can imagine.

One is that you did not even see us and were in a great hurry to get somewhere -- if this is the case please get word to me.

We are already pretty shook up about the last week's events -- to think that someone here in Hood River would intentionlly try to run people down is quite unsettling.

I would love to assure my children this was not as it appeared.

The other scenario is that it was intentional. Should this be the case, I want to let you know that I am praying for you. That you will seek help for your anger. Peace can be found no matter what you've done or what has been done to you and I would love to have the opportunity to discuss it with you.
